Mr. Scoggins

This painting is from the children's story I wrote entitled The Long Dark Knight. I'll sprinkle a few of these in now and then between Mctopia images.

I'm not sure how I ended up on this site, but what a great little painting! Is this for a book that is going to be published or are these for sale?

Hello Amphora,

Thank you for your interest in my stuff.

The Frog Painting, "Mr. Scoggins" is from a story I wrote several years ago. Many people told me I should pursue it as a book but I was doing a lot of work on interactive projects at the time and so I developed it as an interactive story/adventure/game. I negotiated with a prominent interactive publisher for a year before it eventually fell out. I then wrote it as a script for an animated film though a director wanted to make it as a live action film with animatronic characters. I had an animation studio I had worked with that wanted to see a treatment of some of the characters in a TV format. None of these versions got made despite the significant interest. By then I had run out of cash and steam and had to move on. Thats the long answer to your short question. The short answer is that I was too stupid to listen and write it as a children's book.

The original is for sale for $3250 and I have one print available for $75.

If you were talking about the Mctopia images, I am starting the character online and who knows from there. I have 6 images and story segments to go to complete first story and I'm working on the second story in which our hero, Meldwyn Camembert accidentally goes to Burning Man. I'm having fun with them. All of the originals are for sale and I'll have posters available for selected images in the next story, the first of which I'll preview in about a week and a half.

Thanks again and take care,

Michael Coy
